A sad story

Dear Participants,

I know it's been awhile and I know that I have once again neglected this project.  In all honesty, I did my very best to complete this project by the end of 2010; however, this project can only be completed if all artists submit their work. We were almost there!  It is extremely disappointing when there are only two pieces holding up the project.

Unfortunately, I don't have the same time anymore (now that I am a stay at home mom) to commit to this project as before (i.e. finding more replacement artists, shipping paper packets, etc).  But I still haven't given up hope.

One day I will finish this project.  I know I appear to be the slowest, most unreliable project planner in the world, but I have always been the only person to work on this project.  This project was the dream of a young artist in her early twenties with all the time in the world, but that young artist has grown older and now has a family.  Who knew a lot could happen in five years?

It was my goal when I began this project in 2007 to have it completed by the end of the year, but I can only do so much to help to finish this project.  I guess you can say I got in over my head on this one, but no matter how much time passes I am determined to get this done... sometime before I die.

Thank you for your understanding.  Thank you for your patience.  Thank you for keeping hope.

I will update again when I have something exciting to share.  In the meantime, I will do my best to do what I have to do to finish this project.

Sincerely,
Dawbis

Update

Hi All,

Still here. Just been going through a lot of changes in the past few months. While it's been quiet on the blog, I've been busy behind the scenes and working with the remaining artists. It looks like we're almost there. Just three more pieces and the project will be complete! Once all of the pieces have returned to me, the quilts will be sewn, an auction will be held, and lots of other (secret) projects thereafter. Hooray!

I'm still around if you need to get a hold of me at paperquiltproject@gmail.com. Thank you!

Slowing Down

Hi there! I know it's been awhile since our last post, but things here have been slowing down because of the holidays. I am also in my ninth month of pregnancy :) I expect things will pick back up in the next few weeks and we will have the project finished by the end of January. I'm crossing my fingers!

I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday. Happy (early) New Year! I'll be sure to make an update on the 1st of January to give you a better idea of where we are in the project.

Thanks so much for your patience, all!

A Big Thanks & Welcome!

Thank you all for your submissions to the project. I'm sorry I am unable to write back to all of you, but the amount of submissions has been incredible. I am slowly, but surely looking for an artist to fill the last spot in the project. Please be patient and understanding with me. I am just a single gal running this show :) I do truly appreciate the support I have been receiving for the project and am extremely grateful for your kind words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart :)

Lastly, I just want to give a big welcome to a few artists to the project:

Both Pin Pal girls will be joining us for Quilt #6. Hooray! Welcome Sam and Sarah! In addition, Pergylene Acuña from the Philippines has also joined the project! I'm very happy to have you be apart of this amazing project! Welcome :)
